In an effort to reach out to school and community stakeholders and engage in proactive dialogue, UCPS will continue our Cluster Forums during the 2011-12 school year. These forums will be held at each cluster's high school according to the schedule below.

To the citizens of Union County
I am writing to comment on the recent public discussion and news media information regarding school spending. As Superintendent, I understand how important this issue is to everyone. I must say that I am increasingly concerned with how the spending practices of Union County Public Schools have been presented and characterized. At first, I chose not to respond, thinking that most thoughtful people would see this for what it is and it would run its course. However, I can no longer sit by and see a great school district, the shining star of this county, continue to be disrespected and unfairly characterized.

Wingate's Global Communication
This year, three classrooms at Wingate Elementary have taken part in sister school projects. The teachers and students have communicated through letters, emails, and even videos. These projects have given the students the opportunity to see the similarities and differences between countries, as well as provided students with the experience of learning through the eyes of another child.
