Celebrate With Joy
On December 4, 2014, students from Wingate Elementary performed the program, “Celebrate with Joy.” This program highlighted the diverse holidays that are celebrated in the month of December. Ms. Paula Yurkovich worked with grades PreK-5th grade to prepare for the performance, as well as WES Chorus. Each grade level celebrated a different holiday and country.
The holidays that were represented were: Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Students studied the following cultures: Africa, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, The United States, Japan, and Israel. Staff members, parents, and community members were invited to this event, that was held at Austin Auditorium on Wingate University’s Campus. A great time was had by all! A big thank you goes out to all that were involved, especially Ms. Paula Yurkovich for her organization of the event and Wingate University for their donation of the auditorium.
